The next stop on the itinerary was the Tomatin Distillery. We stopped here because we had extra time due to the Balvenie tour not happening. It was a distillery that Johnny knew and liked, and away from the Whisky Festival, so we had hopes of getting a distillery tour, but we arrived to late (see, that keeps popping up!!). Mike from the distillery talked with us for awhile and then because we'd come so far, gave us a private tour. We got to see some storage rooms of special barrels and J got to taste fresh spirits from the second distillation, and was amazed by the amount of whisky character there was already. He also got to sample their 30 year old; Erin did't since she was driving. Johnny bought two of their Cu Bocans to take home.
